when I saw that the Everyday Food blog on the Martha Stewart website has a little blurb about my five weeknight meals post! This seriously made my day. Thank you Everyday Food! I can't wait to try out more recipes from the Jan/Feb edition as soon as I'm done with my detox.
Detox update: I had a mango smoothie for breakfast. It wasn't the pretty color in the photo from my Body and Soul magazine (I think I added too much kale) but it was pretty yummy. I was sure a smoothie with avocado, kale, mango, almond milk, coconut water and ice was going to be hard to swallow. The verdict is that I would make this again for breakfast as long as I could have a little something else to go with it (maybe a boiled egg).
I was starving by 9:30 so I munched on some raw broccoli and carrots...
Lunch was salmon with fennel wedges. This was delicious. I love salmon, but I thought it was going to be too plain, because I didn't get to drench it in a marinade before cooking it. However the olive oil, herbs, onion and lemon was just enough for me. I just got off the phone with my husband who agreed that if we could have had a half cup of pasta with it, we would have been more than satisfied.
It's 1:15 p.m. I ate one hour ago and I'm still full. If I get hungry, I have some raspberries waiting for me in the fridge. I'm also surprisingly happy (I thought I would be super grouchy). I don't know if it's the mention on the Everyday Food blog, the fact that my puppies haven't chewed a hole in the wall today or the special detox food, but whatever it is...Yay!
