For the past three and a half months I've been seriously focused on becoming more like Martha Stewart, especially in the kitchen. So much, in fact, that I've forgotten that it's okay to resort back to some of my simple favorites for a night off. Every time I feel like I need a night off, my husband grabs fast food on his way home, because for some reason, I've felt as if everything I make must be a Martha Stewart recipe. Yesterday, when I was making the grocery list, I said screw it. I was in the mood for a BLT sandwich and potato salad. Nothing fancy, so I gave in and planned two non-Martha Stewart meals for this week. Last night we had the BLTs, and they were so delicious. It was the best BLT I've ever had. Probably because I haven't had one in a long time, but it made me realize that I shouldn't stop fixing all my favorites just because I'm on a Martha kick. It's okay to do both.
Did you make the potato salad too? If not, I know of a good recipe. YMIL
