Martha Products on Sale at Big Lots!

If you have a Big Lots near your home, you should check it for greatly discounted Martha Stewart craft products. I was in Big Lots looking for Method cleaning products when I stumbled across a section with the same type of Martha Stewart craft products you can find in Michael's greatly reduced - and I mean greatly reduced. Everything was $1 to $2!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Of course I had to pick some things up including one tissue paper flower kit, two crepe paper flower kits, scrapbooking items, and two packs of wedding cake charms with ribbons - and I didn't spend more than $12.

Run....don't walk...to your nearest Big Lots and see if they have any Martha Stewart craft products in stock.

Rain, Rain Go Away

My fiance and I are in Orlando at a beautiful resort that has seven pools. I've imagined myself laying out next to the pool that has a gorgeous waterfall and reading a good book since we've planned this prewedding honeymoon. Unfortunately, the weather has other plans for me. It was storming on and off all day yesterday, and I didn't get my sunning time....sad. We did get to sip mimosas and watch the lightening light up the sky while cuddling, so don't feel too bad for me.

I searched "rainy day" on the Martha Stewart website to see what I would come up with. Martha suggests making these ribbon headbands on a rainy day. Hmmmm, they're cute, but I could think of better things to do. What do you do on a rainy day?

Tip of the Day - Vacation and Memorykeeping Crafts

My fiance and I realized that we haven't been very good about taking pictures while we're on our honeymoon, so we're trying to make up for it during the second half. As we collect items and take pictures, I've been thinking about how we'll display them when we move to our next home. Since I recently purchased a sewing machine, I've been much more interested in cute sewing projects. Here are 25 handmade tote bags from the Martha Stewart website.

Gift Purse

One of my goals for this month was to make this adorable gift purse, and I somehow found time to do it. It took a little bit a patience, scrapbook paper, craft glue, a bone folder, a jewel, and ribbon to make. I'm starting an etsy shop and I'm thinking about adding a collection of these gift purses as favors for bridal and baby showers. You could put a little bit of candy, jewelry or something small inside. If I give a small gift to a woman in my life, you better bet I'm going to make one these purse gift boxes for it. Tip of the Day - Floral Crafts

I've said this before, but I'll say it again (just in case you forgot). I love crafts. I could easily spend twelve hours a day on crafts. I'm really excited, because my future father-in-law and his wife gave me an amazing birthday present - an amazon gift certificate. I spent a few hours perusing through all the books that I've wanted for months and picked out my top favorites (including a couple Martha Stewart books!). Now, I'll hold my breath as I open the door to get the mail, hoping that one of my books is there. I got a few craft books :-) and I can't wait to dig in.
