This past Christmas was probably the first Christmas in
our entire relationship that I’ve given my husband more presents than he’s
given me. He loves to spoil me and he always goes over our predetermined gift
budget. We usually decide on a certain amount that each person can spend when
buying gifts for the other. This past Christmas I spent double my allotted
budget but would not allow him to do the same. We could only afford for one of
us to go over.
This Valentine’s Day I thought we both decided that we’d
skip presents, but he couldn’t help himself. On Friday, he gave me a book I had
been wanting and my favorite dessert in the whole world – Girl Scout cookies.
On Saturday, he gave me two more books that he knew were on my wish list and
today I woke up to the new Martha Stewart scoring board that I’ve been drooling
over and Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook. This may not sound like a
romantic present to you, but it was incredibly romantic and delightful to me.
He remembered all the things I’ve been wanting but didn’t allow myself to
purchase over the past couple weeks.
Happy Valentine’s Day to me!
